You find yourself in a time and a place that is neither—it seems to be vast and formless and without end. It is stark white, with no sustenance for your body, neither air nor water nor food. It’s not uncomfortable, though, and you seem to float there, waiting for what will come.
Over time, you remember; an advanced being came to you and asked if you would like to help populate a space station under colonization. Whether it was immediate or not, they got you to acquiesce, and now you are traveling to join the other colonists.
This is your introduction to the Limnus, the aliens who have built this mysterious Dyson ring, and are gathering a population here for unknown ends. Their power to summon people and hold them in a sort of limbo is unmatched by any of the mortals they have brought here. But are their motivations what they appear?
After your transport is over and they place you in the city on the ring, there are elements in your daily life that tell you more, as well. The fact that there’s no way to opt out of being implanted with the SYNC network chip. The fact that your knowledge base becomes part of the collective database once you’re added to the group. And soon enough, you’re unsure of which thoughts are your own and which are part of a greater collective…
Isometrical is a panfandom science-fiction jamjar game with themes including political intrigue, personal autonomy, sociology, and religion. Characters will face elements of social control, social engineering, body horror, and mind control. Actions taken by characters will determine the scope and pace of events, with mysteries to uncover. After being brought to the city of Centre by the ruling Limnus aliens, characters will be forced to make their own way in a place where the only stated goal is their own perfection. But do the Limnus truly want what's best for the character, or just for themselves?
