It takes little effort to work out how to control the menus displayed by the SYNC chip: simply reach out toward the holographic image and touch. Accepting the EULA agreement as printed on the Welcome page allows access to the menus.
Menus
After the SYNC Main Menu becomes navigable, the following options can be found:

Functions
As indicated by the menu options listed above, SYNC is necessary to access the following aspects of life in the city:
The SYNC Main Menu is visible at all times in the upper left corner of their line of vision. Submenus are navigable with eye gestures. All SYNC devices are indexed on the network, making hacking communications between users impossible. Home media can be accessed via projection devices that access the network remotely, and other useful home devices can be programmed to access other functions when needed.
Food and other necessities are supplied by replicators, which can only be controlled or accessed by those who have had their SYNC chip installed. People can gather to eat at replimats, or they can use the replicators in their own homes. Rooftop gardens flourish on many of the residential buildings, but simply can’t yield enough to provide all the food. Fresh vegetables and fruits are considered vastly superior and cost more, and all meat consumed in the city is replicated.
Characters can broadcast via voice, video, or text, although they should keep in mind video transmissions will show what they are seeing and not themselves. The keyboard layout is Dvorak and is accessible by selecting to send a text message.
Incoming messages will not open without being selected by the user. The message window will not open if the character is actively carrying out some important task, such as driving or walking.
All characters with disabilities will find the network device compensates for their abilities. Blind characters will still be able to see the menus because of its ability to interface directly with the optic nerve, and will be legible because of the network’s ability to upload knowledge to the character’s head. Similarly, for illiterate characters, they will find themselves able to decode the symbols involved in reading shortly after arriving. Deaf characters will find that audio and video transmissions are automatically transcribed for them.
There is no anonymous function on the network. All communications will be sent with the user’s network ID and a link to their profile information. Hacking is not possible because of the nature of the implants.
The lingua franca of Isometrical is English. Because the character's language has been downloaded to the network, messages are auto-translated by their SYNC chip upon receipt. For this reason, to an English speaker, everything that they receive will seem to be in English. The exception is if a foreign word is the given name of a place or character. In that case, the translation software knows not to translate the word.
Citizens must visit the hospital to have their SYNC software updated or changed. Special doctors, known as SYNC specialists, service the chips and adjust the software, as necessary. The user can have additional software programmed to be installed. This additional software can provide expertise in a new field of knowledge, such as medicine, astronomy, languages, higher math, etc. But there is only so much room for new software and only one such package can be installed.
- Locking and unlocking one’s personal living quarters
- Use of the food replicators
- Access to finances and banking information
- Boarding public transportation
- Public areas of the network, including microblogging sites, sales sites, news sites, and forums
- Private areas of the network, such as instant messengers
- Maps of the city

Network Profile & ID
Every profile on the network includes basic information for other characters who might want to contact them, including an inbox, and spaces for the following:
The network ID is chosen when the character arrives in Isometrical and can be changed with good reason (though there are possible consequences). If the character is going to be using something other than their given name as their network ID, please comment below to let the mods know. This will become part of the character's game tag.
For example, Issur Danielovitch, from a canon known as Hollywood, would prefer to be known as Kirk Douglas on the network. His network tag will be Hollywood: Kirk Douglas (Issur Danielovitch). ICly, characters in the game cannot read what is in the parentheses. As far as the character is concerned, he is Kirk Douglas to everyone in town.
Comment below if you need the network ID to show a different name from their given name, or to make any points of clarification.
- Housing: Building and number
- Employment: Where you work
- Species: What you are
- Homeworld: Where you come from
- Age: Some number goes here
- Gender: If you want
- Mini-bio: Just some stuff to help people get to know you
