Jim Hopper (Stranger Things)
Please contact the mods on the FAQ page or mod contact page if there are any questions.
- Isometrical accepts original universe characters, canon alternate universe characters, and original characters. Up to two versions of the same character may be played here. See the FAQ on applying characters for more info.
- Due to the nature of the game and events which may transpire in it, you must be over 18 to apply.
- If you are asked for revisions, you will have 5 days to respond before the app is automatically declined.
- Declined apps will have to wait one month before reapplying.
- Please post the entire application in the comments, rather than linking to the character journal. Apps are not screened.
- You may recycle information from previous game apps, with the information placed in the following form. Please provide new samples, however.
- Please put the character name and canon in the subject line of your comment. If the character was reserved, please state this here.
App Guidelines:
PLAYER: Name: Whatever you go as online. If you are recycling an app, make sure this matches the previous app. Method of contact: Can be email, plurk, discord, or other messenger; whatever you're comfortable with. Age: You must be over the age of 16 to play. Characters Played: If you're already playing a character here, state who. CHARACTER: Name: Your character's full name in Western order. Canon: Where do they come from? Canon Point: Distill the point in your character's history they had reached before they arrived in Isometrical. Age: A rough estimate is fine. Original Universe or Alternate Universe?: Please summarize any variations and where in canon they take place. Background: This is your character's history, with emphasis on their place in the setting. Links to the character article on the fandom wiki will suffice for fandom characters. AU characters will have to state any significant changes in their history from the original canon variation, or link to a wiki article that explains the AU. If your character is an OC, or a malleable protagonist, this section is to begin with a bullet-point timeline of the high points in their background. RECORD: Please limit the Disposition section to 800 words and the other sections in this portion of the app to 500 words. Disposition: Shed light on both the strengths and the weaknesses of your character, as well as their typical attitude. Name some personality traits that make them recognizable among their peers in their canon. This section may be presented in bullet-point format. First impression: Characters in Isometrical will find themselves in a dystopian setting that may cause disturbances to their mental and emotional state. Please describe how your character will react to finding themselves in this kind of setting and how they might proceed upon learning what kinds of obstacles they will face there. This is the place to elaborate on how your character is suited to the setting, especially if the character is below the age of 16. Under pressure: After arriving, characters will continue to struggle with the changes from their ordinary lives. Compare the things that tend to motivate the character’s actions in canon to how might this differ in the game setting, showing an understanding of your character's motivations and thought process, and describing events in their past that might influence how they behave toward others here. Powers, abilities, & companions: Since Isometrical is a ring world around a distant white dwarf star, and includes many types of advanced tech with which supernatural powers will not interface, some characters may find their powers reduced or nerfed. Please list how this may affect your character, if applicable. If there is some kind of onboard companion (for example, an AI) that you would like your character to arrive with, please describe the companion and why it is important for the character to have the companion with them. Notes: Please list anything else important here. Inventory: List the items the character will have on their person when they arrive in Isometrical. SAMPLES: Links from TDM threads, threads from a previous game, or meme threads are acceptable, as long as the thread progresses to the point it shows good understanding of the character. Please keep linked samples to play within the last year and no older. At least one sample should be set in-game. Dialogue-heavy sample: Threads or free writing where characters communicate in a more open style. Encapsulate how the character thinks and acts when interacting with another character. Length: At least 120 words. Prose-heavy sample: Threads or free writing which shows introspection as well as action. Length: At least 200 words. |
