Name: Dorana Fidelo
Canon: Isometrical
Canon Point: When a PCs begin to arrive in Isometrical
Age: 40
Original Universe or Alternate Universe?: n/a
Background:
Dorana grew up in a fairly typical, if affluent, family in Italy. Her parents were strongly Catholic, especially her mother, who turned to her faith more intently after the loss of Dorana's brother in infancy. Dorana was never very religious herself, however, as far as the trappings of Catholicism went. She had always considered herself spiritual rather than devout, and had turned to more the life of a party animal by the time she disappeared to Isometrical.
Something about bring brought to Isometrical turned this all on its head for Dorana, however. She found that she had now had everything she'd ever been taught about religion and spirituality contradicted—but she turned to the feeling of spirituality that had always been a comfort to her in childhood now. She became a frequent visitor to the Temple, and began wearing a Ring token around her neck to symbolize her devotion to the force which had brought all of Centre's citizens here. This was how she came to the attention of the Temple's priest. He is the one who chose her to be his successor, having grown elderly.
Dorana made various changes to the position after her ordination. She is the one who changed one of the prayer halls into a residence for herself, and installed herself in the position as a full-time job. To Dorana, her devotion to the Limnus could never be overstated. There was no reason not to do it every minute of every day. Presumably, she has some method of communion with the Limnus that allows her to know at least some of their plans, but she doesn't share details with the citizens or leadership of the city.
RECORD:
Disposition:
First impression: Upon arriving, Dorana will observe her surroundings quietly without reacting outwardly. She's the type to gather evidence and consider it carefully before making a move. She will go about her business when told where she can find a place to live and so forth, though, even though she hasn't quite decided what she will do yet. In the end, she's liable to decide the force that has brought her to Isometrical must be powerful and their abilities have earned them the right to dictate what she does with the rest of her life. She will end up pledging her life to their service.
Under pressure: Dorana has never lived a life where she needed to fend for herself. Her financial needs had all been taken care of by her parents, and she'd never done much but attend school, hang out on the beach, and socialize with those who had earned the privilege of being known as her good friends. Dorana will adapt readily to the role of a priestess, however, finding that taking on this role will energize her and give her purpose. She will find herself to be an ambassador for the aliens that have brought all these citizens to Isometrical, and will embrace that aspect of the position wholeheartedly. Coming to this place and meeting so many people from so many backgrounds will do nothing but convince her she's been placed in this time and in this position for a reason. Dorana is the one who will take the role of priestess from something part-time, something that's done when new arrivals appear on the Ring, and instead turn it into a full-time position carried out by someone who sets up living quarters in the Temple itself. For her, doing this is more than a job. It's a calling, and she intends to fulfill her calling in the best manner that she can. In this way, Dorana will endeavor to become her best self in a way she had never done at home with her aimless way of living.
Powers, abilities, & companions: Dorana is an ordinary human. She does have a talent for languages.
Notes: Dorana's PB is Ana Ayora.
Inventory: Dorana will arrive only with the clothes she's wearing, and a gold chain necklace around her neck.

Dialogue-heavy sample: [ Dorana had just become priestess two days before, and she felt it was important to greet the newest arrivals on the network in that capacity. She opened an audio channel and began to speak. ]
Welcome to our city. We are proud to be the best community we can be, and we will do whatever we can to help you find your place here. There's nothing more important in a person's life than knowing their place in it. I believe this is the best way to be at peace. I have been in this role only a short time, that of priestess of the Temple, but there is nothing more that I'd rather do now that I have begun. This is a fulfillment for me of everything that I had the promise to become back where I came from, in Italy.
[ She paused for a moment, a soft smile touching her lips. ]
Thank you so much for agreeing to come. We will make it worth it, together, all. Thank you.
Prose-heavy sample: Dorana had always been known for being social, but it was different from the way she'd come to act here. Here she was more thoughtful, more introspective, more helpful. Here she had truly become a person she was proud of being. She liked helping people, and she liked being a shoulder to lean on when people began to accept their role in their life on the Ring.
Right now Dorana seemed to be wandering the aisles in the Temple, but her movements were more purposeful than they seemed. She was watching for people having difficulties integrating, people who might be willing to become physically violent in their approach to understanding what they're doing here. She'd seen it happen many times and has come to recognize the signs that people might be reacting that way.
And then she went into purposeful mode, approaching the side of a person who seemed bewildered and unhappy to be here. "Peace to you," she said. "Do not be afraid. Did you read the agreement that you need to sign to be able to enter the city? I can help you understand it, if you need help."
She smiled, and held her hands out to show she had no weapons, no tricks. She was exactly who she seemed to be. She was the priestess.

Original Universe or Alternate Universe?: n/a
Background:
- Born in Torino, Italy, in 1980.
- Grew up in an affluent family, one of three sisters.
- Lost her only brother when she was four and he was an infant. She barely remembers this, but it had an influence on how her mother related to her.
- After graduating from school, she enrolled in university in Sorento so that she can spend time on the beach between her studies.
- Brought to Isometrical when she was 20.
Dorana grew up in a fairly typical, if affluent, family in Italy. Her parents were strongly Catholic, especially her mother, who turned to her faith more intently after the loss of Dorana's brother in infancy. RECORD:
Disposition:
- Self-possessed: Dorana has taken on her role as priestess knowing that she will often encounter belligerent new arrivals or interact with people who disagree with her beliefs. She rarely shows anger or displeasure, but instead tries to win over those who come to her with complaints with gracious poise. When circumstances do lead to her losing her temper, she will become quiet and controlled, rather than reacting by lashing out.
- Constant: Dorana's life is one of habits. She always carries out her daily duties in the same manner and on the same schedule, rarely swerving. People who worship at the Temple always know they will find her available to help them carry out their rituals at particular times of day.
- Spiritual: Dorana takes joy in her role as the city's priestess and has come to strongly believe in the goodness of the entities that have brought all of Isometrical's citizens to Centre. She wears a ring token around her neck to show her piety.
- Patient: Dorana rarely loses her temper with people who have disagreements with her. She instead endeavors to take her time both listening to others' points of view, and expressing her own. At times this will lead to a conversation veering into redundancy, yet Dorana will continue to be measured in her reactions to the person she is talking to.
- Stubborn: In a discussion, Dorana is unlikely to change her preexisting point of view. Dorana has considered her reasoning long before this person came to know her, and she doesn't intend to be swayed by their opinions. Even if it leads to an 'agree to disagree' type of conclusion, Dorana will simply state that she knows she is right.
- Secretive: Dorana is likely to leave something as a mystery in the mind of the person she's talking to if it suits her ends. Even under direct questioning, she may be cryptic or evade giving a straight answer.
